Awesome video making!

Okay, I don't have much to blog about today, so I suppose I'll just blog about...well...nothing! So...I'll just list off my random thoughts and favorite quotes. Leave this blog now!

Thoughts:
  • There aren't enough awesome videos on youtube!
  • The ones that are there and are awesome are usually short.
  • I need to find a job that revolves around movie-making.
Quotes:

"To get something to shine, you have to polish it hard."
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is the idleness of good men."

How to make awesome special effects in movies!

First of all, most movie makers really want to learn how to make cool special effects in their movies.
Most are extremely easy to do-once you know how to do it. Because I don't have the time to make a whole guide, I'll give you some tips to find good guides.

  1. To learn how to make explosions/flames/etc in videos, go to GOOGLE and type in: "How to use Chroma key", or "Chroma Key explosions". (The Chroma Key is the tool you use to use blue/green screen effects, and how to use explosions in your videos.
  2. If you have the program "Adobe Photoshop", you can use this to make gun muzzle fire and other effects: go to the video editing program, import the video you want, play video until you get where you want to put effect, and then find out how you can take a "snapshot." Then, import it into photoshop, and use the paintbrush tool (yellow/white color) and simply paint in a random pattern. Save the pic., and import into video editing program.
  3. Be creative, and look up guides for everything!

Hockey VS. Rugby

Today, I'll be comparing and contrasting Hockey & Rugby. If you are a huge fan of Rugby who is going to fail to NOT comment rudely on this post, hit the back button.

OK, here are the similarities between the two sports:
  • Both sports have goals to get a puck/rugby ball into.
  • Both sports have some form of tackling/checking.
...Yeah, that's pretty much it. Here are the contrasts:
  • Hockey is on ice or roller blades, while Rugby is only on foot, usually on grass :(
  • Hockey has a stand up goal, while Rugby has a "touchdown" area on the grass, like football.
  • In Hockey, there are goalies, which are not in Rugby.
  • In Hockey, you have awesome blocking pads (for goalies), and gloves. In Rugby, you just have you.
 Etc.

Justin Bieber is crazy!!!

I just put that title on there to get you to click on this blog. Anyway, what I really want to talk about is music, not Justin Bieber. (Of course, he is crazy!)

O.K., what is with all the crazy music that people listen to today?!? How can you even put yourself around "screemo" (screaming) music or retarded stuck-up-prissy-chick songs? To all the people that listen to these types of music, do you realize how much of an average immature teenager you look like? The same with the Twilight series: you can totally stereotype the people that watch those movies if you want to. Do yourself a favor and get informed and get mature. (By get informed, I do not mean talk with your 12-14 year old friends about Twilight.)

Overloading the workload at highschool!

Crazy high-school workloads!

At the high-school I go to, (I won't specify the name) we have crazy workloads of homework! I've never had so much work in my life until I came here. And don't get me wrong, It's not that I'm a crazy lazy teenager who hates work. In fact, I love a lot of work, especially useful and practical, necessary work.
But here, it's like a lot of the teachers give out tons of work just for...well, busywork. (Not all of the teachers; in fact, most of them don't. Sadly, it's the ones that do that eat up all of your time and leave you with nothing but a stress-induced headache and the urge to go set something on fire. (Preferably your school books.)

Hockey tips!

Here are some tips for Hockey players
(that I am making up right now.)
  1. If you're a goalie, do anything to get possession of the puck coming toward you. Use your gloves, and even helmet, for the full blocking power. If you bury the puck under your glove/knee pads/face (lol) the ref. will call a timeout, and your team will (probably) get the puck.
  2. If you're a "runner", use your stick to wack the puck away from the opposing team. Don't hit it too far so you can rush up to it and shoot for a goal.
  3. Protect the net. At least 2 people should be on defense, and guarding the goalie!

Hockey!

Hockey is an awesome game which is obviously favored in Canada. I played some when I was really young; probably 7-10 years old. My older bro., who happens to be a Canadian, loves hockey and taught me about it! I played goalie on a team, but never a, for want of a better word, "runner". Luckily, in gym class we have recently been doing hockey drills, so we will probably play soon!
